A classic ball, caught mid-melt.

Part of the 32-panel ball series, frozen in a permanently melted state. Starting at the top, the panels warp and drip downward, which changes the whole construction. The melt adds a few extra pieces, thirty-eight panels in all, and not one of them is a standard pentagon or hexagon, including the one at the very bottom with a little nick taken out of it. A giant melted pentagon goes on last, right before it is pumped up.

Build
Hand stitched

Every panel slumped differently.

No two panels melt the same way. Where they slumped over each other the layers stack and catch the light, so the ball looks heavier and more worked than a normal one, a classic football sagging under its own weight.

The first one that might be better deflated.

Pumped up, it holds the melted shape. But this is the first ball that might actually make more sense left deflated, slumped, more puddle than ball. Still deciding.
